Camerawork and editing: Minority Report analysis

Medium shot (MS)

This shot shows a group of soldiers and very little background. This allows us to focus on them and notice that they are all looking in the same direction and all are equipped with protective gear. This could mean that they are prepared to fight if their enemy tries to resist. There are escalators in the background which shows this is a public place therefore adding more danger to the situation as innocent bystanders could be harmed. It also means the soldiers would not be afraid to expose violence towards their victim in public. This could change the way the public sees them in a negative light.

Long Shot (LS)

This shot presents the character exiting a beaten, old car with the windows missing.. This shot does not allow us to see their face and focuses more on the setting which seems to be placed in a dilapidated, run down alleyway due to the puddle spotted ground, grey buildings and crippled scaffolding. This shows that this place is isolated and the character would be alone/away from the public's eyes. He could also be cornered easily if being chased.

Close Up (CU)
This close up shot focuses on the protagonist's face. The background is blurry and we can't distinguish much apart from a metal grate. His face portrays an expression of scepticism towards his oncoming antagonists. Harsh lighting on his face connotes a sense of dark intentions as it is half shadowed by the light coming from the opposite direction. This is emphasised by the dark colour scheme in the scene.
