Gender representation in advertising

1) What stereotypes of women can you find in the 1950s and 1960s adverts? Give specific examples.Stereotypes of women are than they should be thin, clean and at home, making sure the house is tidy and preparing food for the children and her husband. Women are expected to have fathers, brothers, husbands or other male figures in their life to guide and care for them because women were portrayed as weak and dependent as well. I mean, we couldn't possibly function or survive without them, would we?Image result for cleaning product adsRelated image2) What stereotypes of women can you find in the post-2000s adverts? Give specific examples.Women are no longer expected to be slim and pretty, women can be independent and strong by themselves. There are still a few advertisements that expected women to do the cleaning but otherwise, women are portrayed be bosses instead of secretaries, bread winners instead of bread bakers and intellectual instead of idiotic.3) How do your findings suggest representations of gender have changed over the last 50 years?I believe the world has gradually come to realise woman's full potential and appreciate the fact that they are alive thanks to women. Even though there are still a few tough nuts who refuse to accept men and women are equal or that one gender is superior to the other, I'm sure they'll soften up soon. Extension: Find three adverts that subvert  gender stereotypes and write a paragraph about how they do this.
