Blog Feedback and Learner Response
WWW-Your Fruit Bowl is beautiful and shows a creative
competence on Photoshop. I love the pastel colours. You have used some good
media terminology in your denotation and connotation task on the Water Aid
advert and made a decent start at analysing your own advert.
EBI-Your introductory post is too brief and not written
in full sentences with carefully written, accurate English at all times. I like
the analysis of
Sherlock but you need to embed the link and also be
specific about which part of the clip you are referring to. Your Ender’s Game
film poster analysis starts off well (referring to ‘production’ and ‘tag line’)
but it is unfinished which is disappointing. Your level of analysis could be
improved on the analysis of the Innocent Smoothie advert: look at the clouds in
the setting and the image of the strawberry so you are picking out finer
details to analyse.
LR: Improve the posts that are not in enough depth; go
back to Macguffin posts for examples such as LIAR so you can see how in-depth
the analysis needs to be at GCSE level. Then, reflect on your first month of
Media.
What do you feel is your strongest piece of work so far?
What is your weakest?
What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop over the rest of the course?
How can you improve the depth and detail of your media analysis?
I believe my strongest work is my Innocent smoothie advert analysis.
Before I improved it, I'd say the Ender's Game poster analysis.
I need to learn how to write accurate and detailed posts showing exactly what the task requires of me.
Research what I'm working on and ask my teacher questions or for help if I am stuck.
