February PPE Paper 2 LR
1) Did you succeed in meeting or exceeding your target grade for GCSE Media? If not, how many additional marks do you need to achieve your target grade in this paper?
28 marks for a Grade 7
2) Write a question-by-question analysis of your performance. For each question, write how many marks you got from the number available and identify any points that you missed by carefully studying the AQA indicative content in the mark scheme:
Q1.2: Elaborate on age representation in association with normality and unearthly behaviour instead of gender representation.
Q1.3: Refer to the extract shown instead of elaborating on industry knowledge! Use knowledge and examples from the clip to back up my points.
Q2: Develop points more specific to the historical context, e.g people concerned about space exploration, first moon landing etc.
Q4: Write more, timing issues. Go over the newspaper CSP stories in depth, know the case studies inside and out. Include detailed content knowledge of the stories.
Q5: Use direct references from the case studies, quote articles, describe images and content size etc.
3) Based on the whole of your Paper 2 learner response, plan FIVE more CSPs / topics / theories that you will prioritise in your Media revision timetable leading up to the June exams.
Extension task: Focus on the 20-mark questions (Q2, Q4, Q5). Write a full essay plan for these questions using the indicative content in the mark scheme and with enough content to meet the criteria for the top level. This will be somewhere between 4-5 well-developed paragraphs per question planned in some detail.
