1) What conventions of an advert can you find and what are the connotations of each one?

Slogan/Callout - "Get some nuts" is illustrated in the central image of the Snickers bar by the peanuts embedded in the caramel. The statement itself is an imperative shown by the verb 'get'. This tells the audience to buy the product.

Central image - The central image is the advertised product torn in half to expose what it contains. it connotes

Colour scheme - The main colours are different hues of brown and beige which connote tranquility.

Typography - The font throughout is Sans Serif which is more modern, the '#hungry' at the bottom of the page is relatable to the modern era as well.

2) For each convention, write about how this appeals to a target audience.

The browns appeal to the audience because brown is a warm colour that stimulates hunger and the appetite (More commonly referring to chocolate). The blue in the centre slows metabolism.

The target audience could be The Explorer because if this were proposed as a new product they would be the most inquisitive to try it out.

3) What is the USP (unique selling point) of the product and how do you know?

The uniqueness of the product is how it is a chocolate bar containing real nearly whole nuts and how that would be the prominent taste if you were to consume it. Not only that, it is compromised of four different aspects. (Chocolate, caramel, nougat, peanuts.) It also prides itself on the fact that if you eat the Snickers bar, it will satisfy your hunger.
